Saints in the City: Msgr. Bernard Quinn

A new series on “Currents” called “Saints In The City” will feature men and women who made a mark in New York City and are official Saints of the Church or on the path to Sainthood. And tonight, we’re introducing you to an early pioneer for civil rights. Monsignor Bernard Quinn was the son of Irish immigrants, but did much to help Black Catholics in the Brooklyn Diocese. His cause for Sainthood is currently being considered, and tonight, he is our first “Saint In The City.”
