November 13 is the Feast Day of St. Frances Cabrini. Despite her very Italian name, she’s actually the first American citizen to be declared a Saint. Although she died in 1917, she’s still one of the most talked about Saints, especially here in New York, the place she made her permanent home. We recently had a chance to visit her final resting spot – at Mother Cabrini High School in the Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood. We also got some insight on this “Saint in the City,” from the man who’s written the book on the Saints, Father James Martin of America magazine.
