Have you ever seen someone do a good deed and said, or heard someone say, “She’s like a modern-day Saint?” Well if you have, you’re not alone. And on tonight’s show, we have a discussion about someone who’s widely expected to one day be canonized: Mother Teresa.
If you’ve been intimidated by biographies about the Missionaries of Charity founder because they’re hundreds of pages long, now’s your chance to peek into Mother Teresa’s world in a much easier way.
David Van Biema was the religion writer for Time magazine for a decade. He, together with contributors including Fr. James Martin (of America magazine) and Mother Teresa’s postulator, Fr. Brian Kolodiejchuk, has written a biography that’s as easy to slip into your summer beach bag as a magazine.
The book, which also includes an introduction by Evangelical megachurch pastor Rick Warren, is called Mother Teresa: The Life and Works of a Modern Saint. It’s being published ahead of what would have been Mother Teresa’s 100th birthday on August 26th. On tonight’s show, I sit down with David Van Biema to discuss the book.
