Tips for beating the heat!
If you’ve been outside and managed to not pass out, congratulations! It’s a scorcher out there! It’s so hot that the NYC Health Department has opened up cooling centers across the city to help you beat the heat. They do it every time the temperature reaches astronomical heights, like it has the past couple of days.
On the Thursday show, we share with you some tips on how to keep cool:
- Wear loose fitting, light colored clothing.
- Stay in the air conditioning whenever possible.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine.
- Remember to check in with children or the elderly.
For more tips, check out the Office of Emergency Management website. Catholic Charities senior centers are also available for people of all ages to come inside and cool off. To find a center, go here.
