First Profession of Vows

This is the “Year for Priests,” but tonight, we being by looking at another vocation. On Saturday, July 18, four young women made what’s known as their first profession for the Little Sisters of the Poor. Family and friends gathered at the sisters’ chapel, St. Ann’s Novitiate in Queens Village, and our cameras were there to capture it all.

What a gift to get to see and hear Sr. Jemma’s face and voice, even though it is from afar. There is a peace and joy in her eyes that I haven’t ever seen before!

Thanks be to God for the beautiful witness and lives of the Little Sisters. The world needs their witness and let us stand in awe of God’s work as many more women are responding to Christ’s call to give their all to Him and to the world.

This was a great idea to have the profession and the young Sisters in the video. God Willing, we pray that many young women will be inspired to answer the Call to Religious Life. Thank you to the 4 Sisters for saying “YES”. s.l.m

Thank you for sharing the beautiful video of the profession…… Both of my parents lived at the home in Palatine, Illinois. I was Blessed to know the Sisters and be a witness to their Love of God, their Humble spirit and their tireless commitment to their apostolate of caring for the elderly.
My prayers are with the LSP that their will be many more women that will be inspired to answer God’s call.

It was with great joy that I came upon the video of the newly professed Little Sisters. Each of these Little Sisters will remain in my prayers daily — as do all Little Sisters throughout the Congregation. I pray for the perseverance of each and every Little Sister of the Poor. It is a wondrous vocation you have accepted. As in all walks of life there will be challenges — I have gotten through many of these, by the grace of God, through the intercession of the Little Sisters. My prayers are with you as each of you face the small and large challenges of life, and religious life. What a wondrous year for your Profession — the year of the Canonization of Jeanne Jugan!

Dear Sisters,
Today was the first opportunity I had to view the Profession video. Thanks be to God for the gift of the Little Sisters to the life of the Church and the lives of the elderly poor.
To the newly professed Sisters I wish to say thank you for the gift of yourself to the mission of Jesus and the spirit of our beloved St. Jeanne Jugan.
To the novice Sisters thank you for saying yes to such a noble vocation.

I join you in thanking the Lord for the gift of your beloved Foundress and one of our newest Saints. St Jeanne Jugan, pray for us!
