The calendar may say January but the temperatures, at least today, feel more like spring – a time when we’re likely to see more and more weddings. And there’s no better time to talk about marriage.
According to a recent analysis of census data by the Pew Research Center, only 51 percent of adults in the U.S. are married – a drop of 21 percentage points from 1960. And Pew says if trends continue, the percentage of Americans who are married will soon be less than half.
But for those who decide to take the big step, preparation is very important. We had a chance to hear more about that at a recent talk in Manhattan. There, a man who travels the country talking about marriage shared the church’s teaching on the sacrament of matrimony.
