He was unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight and wound up fighting a future heavyweight champion of the world. And while he may be a footnote in another fighter’s rise to the top, he was a champion in his own right, having won the Golden Gloves here in New York City and earning the number three ranking in the professional cruiserweight division. Now the retired boxer Seamus McDonagh is making a name for himself in a different arena.
McDonagh, who once called Brooklyn home, is now focused on the stage and will be performing on Long Island this weekend. He recently stopped by our studio where he spoke with our News Director, Ed Wilkinson.
