The anticipation is high as Christmas draws closer. The big day is just over three days away. That means time is running short if you still have some shopping left do. While many of us have been hitting the stores over the last few weeks, Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens has been working just as hard, collecting toys as part of its annual toy drive.

And yesterday, the big day arrived when the organization handed out those toys and made Christmas merry for many young people. Around 300 children and parents were on hand at the Catholic Charities Queens Community Center in Astoria. Of course, you can’t give out toys without Santa, and old St. Nick was on hand. There was also dancing, caroling and plenty of snacks as everyone got into the Christmas spirit.
