Healing Abortion’s Wounds – 1/22/10

A day to remember here in the U.S. – the 37th Anniversary of the Roe
v. Wade Supreme Court Decision that made abortion legal across the
country. Earlier today… around 17 thousand young people packed into
the Verizon Center in Washington for a special rally and Mass – a
prelude to today’s March for Life.

Things kicked off with a concert featuring a number of Catholic
artists, followed by rosary and a Mass, celebrated by Washington
Archbishop Donald Wuerhl.

We recently had the opportunity to attend another Mass, closer to
home. It was part of a morning of prayer for women, men and families
effected by abortion. They all gathered at the Lady Chapel of St.
Patrick’s Cathedral to ask for forgiveness – and healing.

A very holy priest I know said that abortion will be ended when the chorus of voices of women who have been wounded by abortion are heard.
Thank you for aiding in their healing.

Praise God for His Mercy and Love! What a powerful testimony to His Divine mercy in the healing that these men and women experience after abortion. Let us pray for more healing, and that the whole world truly wakes up to the reality that abortion hurts women. May our Blessed Mother intercede for us all, to recognize the sanctity of life in the unborn child, and the dignity of the woman.
