A recent survey on Catholic attitudes in the U.S. shows that Catholics do not necessarily fall inline with what the Church teaches on some big issues. For example, six-in-10 unmarried Catholics say individuals should decide for themselves whether premarital sex is right or wrong. And a substantial percentage of those surveyed do not agree with the Church’s teaching on the change of the bread and wine at Mass into the body and blood of Christ.
So what do we make of that? Our Matt McClure recently went “into the deep” with Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio to get some answers.
