Italian pride is taking center stage on the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn once again. For over 100 years, residents and the curious alike, cram into the streets and sidewalks to take part in the annual, ever popular, Feast of the Giglio.
It happens every year at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish, and the highlight is a unique “dance” in the streets.
To get a preview of the festivities and find out more about them, our Matt McClure spoke with Our Lady of Mt. Carmel’s pastor, Monsignor Joseph Calise, and one of the event’s organizers, Dr. Phil Franco.
