New perspectives on Arab Spring 1/20/12

The protests on the streets of Syria are part of what is known as the Arab Spring, uprisings happening all over the Arab world.

But why are the protests happening and what will it mean for the rest of the world? At last weekend’s New York Encounter in Manhattan, a couple of experts shared their insights and gave those who listened a unique perspective on the situation – and its greater implications.
