Non-Catholics in Catholic Schools – 2/5/10

As Catholic Schools Week comes to a close, we wanted to look at
schools in the diocese with fresh eyes – the eyes of an outsider.

In Brooklyn’s Catholic schools, about one in four students, 23%, are
non-Catholic. And we want to shed some light on this phenomenon.

This week, our Nathalia Ortiz visited a Catholic school in Queens and
met up with the kind of family you might not have seen there a
generation ago. They don’t belong to the parish. In fact, they don’t
even belong to the faith.
