Reel Faith rundown of movies to see 12/21/11

‘Tis the season for Christmas movies! The website Fandango conducted a poll of its customers to get their take on the worst Christmas movies. The top 10 list included some movies you may be familiar with: Christmas With The Kranks, Home Alone 3, Jingle All The Way and that perennial favorite: Ernest Saves Christmas.

But the number one worst Christmas movie of all time, according to Fandango customers: Santa Claus Conquers The Martians. The 1964 holiday clunker reportedly cost only $20 thousand dollars to make and featured a cardboard set. It may be most notable for its later treatment on the comedy show Mystery Science Theater 3000. It was also the first film appearance of actress and singer Pia Zadora, who played one of the Martian children.

There’s a good chance that none of these movies are on the recommended list of our guest. David DeCerto is one of the co-hosts of NET’s “Reel Faith.” He gave our Matt McClure recommendations on what to see in theaters this Christmas season.
