Reproductive Health Act – 6/22/10

Abortion has been at the center of a number of national debates in
recent months, but changes may be coming to laws right here in New
York and – according to the Church – not for the better.

The New York State Catholic Conference, the public policy voice for
the Church in the state, says a proposal introduced in the Assembly
last week is a, quote, “radical abortion bill.”  The Reproductive
Health Act matches a bill already in the state Senate, and has the
support of Governor Paterson.

We wanted to find out more, so our Matt McClure spoke by phone with
the New York State Catholic Conference’s Director of Pro-Life
Activities, Kathleen Gallagher.
