It is almost here – for students across the Brooklyn Diocese, the much-needed Christmas break. Instead of pencils, notebooks and tests, children will be thinking about presents under the tree and the real reason for the season.

But the time off from school will be well deserved for many students, and that is certainly the case for the young people at St. Andrew Avellino School in Flushing Queens.
