It may be another mystery of the Church – a religious sister in upstate New York has discovered a tapestry that may contain 365 relics of Saints. According to the newspaper Western New York Catholic, the tapestry was a gift to Buffalo Bishop John Timon from Pope Pius IX, sometime in the late 1850’s. It hung in Buffalo’s cathedral but was removed in 1913 and placed in the care of the Sisters of St. Joseph while a new cathedral was being built. The tapestry was then forgotten until this year when one of the current sisters discovered it.
According to reports, the tapestry may even contain some relics of Jesus. To find out more, our Liz Faublas spoke earlier today with the Rector of St. Joseph Cathedral in Buffalo, Monsignor James Campbell.
