It was quite a celebration here yesterday, as the Diocese of Brooklyn held its annual Migration Mass. It was an opportunity to recognize the diversity that fuels – and helps define the Church in Brooklyn and Queens.
The Mass – which took place at the Church of St. Joseph in Prospect Heights – also recognized the hard work of the Diocese’s Migration Office – which has served the city’s immigrant communities for 41 years. The Office assists men, women and children who have come from at least 167 different countries.
Many representatives from these various groups were at St. Joseph’s Church yesterday – and so were we.
