Amid the latest reports about the so-called “Vatileaks” scandal and the investigation of people who were at one time Pope Benedict’s most trusted confidants, Catholics may find themselves wondering if they are being well informed about everything that is happening, not only at the Vatican but also in the Catholic Church. Most people would agree they prefer to be kept in the loop about information that can have an impact their lives.
Ellen Rhatigan, Associate Director for Pastoral Planning for the Brooklyn Diocese’s Office of Faith Formation suggests, rather than looking at all the challenges and interpreting what we think we are not being told, we should change the lens through which we view the Church and focus on its actual truths and teachings.
That was the subject of a Theology On Tap. Ellen explored Catholic social teaching in a discussion called “The Vatican’s Best Kept Secret”.
