Temperatures in much of the eastern part of the U.S. may be setting record highs, but that did not stopped one group from hitting the streets.

Since 2002, the Wounded Warriors has been on a mission to honor and empower wounded warriors in a variety of ways, including its popular soldier rides.

This week, they braved the triple-digit heat and cycled through the streets of New York with some of New York’s own hometown heroes. And for the first time ever, the finish line was right here in the City of Churches.
