Lorena Jorge

Lorena Jorge is a native New Yorker, partly raised in the vibrant fast-paced Manhattan and the calm friendly neighborhood of Corona, Queens. These two dynamics created a lovable, feisty ball of energy that would draw people in and open them up to express themselves with ease and comfort.

This ability she developed in her high school, St. John’s Prep, especially through the Campus Ministry and Big Sister programs. In her two years of service and participation in the Speech and Debate team, she discovered the power of words, her genuine love for people, their artistic aspirations, and the impact it can have on an individual when shared. She says, “I’m simply an extroverted artist who enjoys putting smiles or tears on people’s faces through my work; therefore, to uncover another’s creative process and final product on faith film festival will be a blissful adventure.”

Attending Fordham, a Jesuit University, exposed Lorena to different cultures and faiths giving her a newfound appreciation for the beautiful diversity this world has to offer. She continued the mission of spreading cultural awareness, promoting talent, and encouraging faith as the Vice President of SOL (Student Organization of Latinos) through events like Latin Cafe. She created and hosted Java Night, to celebrate and support today’s generation of poets, filmmakers, singers, painters, actors, etc.

After graduating Fordham with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Criminology and Visual Arts she decided to follow her first passion, the Dramatic Arts. She is currently finishing her first year in the Wiliam Esper Studios and has graced the stage in several venues. “I am very excited for people to see me outside of a role and be given the chance to connect with me on a more personal level while exploring one of the artistic worlds I adore, FILM.”
