What is happening today in the Mid East is no different then what has been happening throughout human history anywhere and everywhere.Violence has been part of “what man is made of” everywhere.Acts of goodness have always existed side by side with acts of evil between groups of people and among groups of people and every individual does both good and evil.God judges us as individuals,not groups. And God loves everyone equally.Christ’s salvation extends to everyone even those who happen to not believe in Him [We all encounter Christ in other people and we're all capable of doing God's will or going against God by both sinning against our neighbor and loving our neighbor.No group ,no individual has a monopoly on either behaviour.]
Revelation is part of scripture to remind us that there will be an end time; that “all creation longs for God” and God”s creation will finally be “all in all” with God.It’s not for us to know when or to look for “signs ” of the secong coming of Christ.Our sign of God’s love for His creation is Christ Himself and our faith in His love for us is what gives us meaning.Concern about end times makes for an exciting movie or a fun read but only God knows when He will retun .However, the fact that we like to speculate on such things is an expresstion of our brokeness and longing for fulfillment in God.
