Jesus needs your RSVP

What is keeping you from giving it all to Christ? What are the obstacles in your life not allowing God to be in total control? So many times we are expecting things to change in our lives, but we fail to see the opportunities or to make the right move at the right time. Wake-up and open your eyes to the reality of Christ in your life.

In today’s gospel we see how Simon and Andrew drop their nets and immediately follow Christ; they did not need all the details, a map or explanations. Deep down inside the fishermen knew that Jesus was what they have been waiting for all their lives and they made an on-the-spot decision to follow him. Simon and Andrew did not facebook, text or call anyone for advice. They saw the opportunity of a lifetime and grabbed it with both hands, but remember that in order to do so they had to let go of the net first.

What are you hanging on to? What’s that one thing you know is causing you more harm than good, but you just can find a way to let go?

You cant embrace Christ if you are already embracing something or someone else. The call of Christ is a radical one, but also a necessary one if we are to live life to the fullest and experiment heaven as our final destination.

Have you been thinking about following Jesus? What are you waiting for? Today is the day to RSVP to Jesus and accept his invitation.

Perhaps you have been going through a time of trail, persecution, doubt, family issues and economic crisis just to mention a few and need something to give. In the midst of your waves there is a man that wants to lift you on his shoulders and take you where you cannot make it alone. Take his hand today and allow him to lead you to still waters of peace and tranquility.

Advent is a time of Action! What will you do? Will you RSVP to Christ today and let him know that you are ready to take the first step into a life of fullness in his presence or will you let another golden opportunity walk right by you? I am not going to guarantee that things will magically get better just because you have made the choice to follow Jesus, but what I can promise you is that He will never leave nor will He forsake you.

So, drop your nets and get tangled in His nets of Love, Grace, Peace and Mercy. I bet you never thought that being caught in a net would feel so good? There’s no net like God’s net. Believe it!

Let’s pray

Good and Patient God thanks for inviting me once again to follow you. Help me to do so, with consistency throughout this time of advent and throughout my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
